Papalala Za Ongwala (the wings of the Eagle)

All of the proceeds from the sale of Shirley's paintings go to the Eagle Wings Christian Family. Eagle Wings is Chiomba Nkhanga  in Chchewa.  Eagle Wings is made up of a very small group of Christians, who support five local Malawian missionaries and their families in their work. Eagle Wings is not a charity organisation, instead it aims to help Malawians to become self sufficient. https://www.facebook.com/wingsofmalawi/

Isaiah 40:31 “but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles they will run and not grow weary they will walk and not be faint.”

2025 March

It seems a long time ago that Veronica our Malawi coordinator came for the first time to visit Australia.

it was an amazing time Sept/Oct 2024. As soon as she returned to Malawi, she was flat out organizing the November 2024 for the Pastors and their wives. Fortunitly they managed to unite in Blantyre before the fuel completely dried up. Due to Mozambique  in an unrest political civil war.

We sent money to help feed the Mozambique refugess in Nsanje. 200 people were fed. Thanks to Ps Julius Damson and his gifted organization in distribution.

We also gave some money to Ps Kennedy as his village was suffering severe hunger as well. Ps Kennedy was also very efficient at distribution to 71 people.

Veronica went back to Malawi with a few packets of veggie seeds and they planted some like pumkin and cucumber/ Naming them aussie tomatoes etc.

Thank you to all the Brisbane Christians that sent gifts back for the Reunion, for the Pastors and their families. Australian vegetable.Photo.

Photo of Ps Steven he was placing his speaker on his motorcycle and preaching as he went along the Rd - often being waved down to stop and preach longer along the Rd.

Testimony' how he joined EWM written by Pastor Steven

About Eagle Wings.

Initially called living waters mission. But changed to Eagle Wings to tie in with the Bible. Isaiah Forty verse thirty one.

To begin with it was me, as a human, whom had doubts about this mission. I confess my weakness for not understanding Gods small tiny beginnings. I didn't expect Eagle Wings to carry us to this point. I failed to understand Gods plans and choice of people to use. I didn't expect this mission to do great things.

In the beginning Our sister in Christ Shirley raised funds. Through the sale of her paintings, to support us.  Malawi churches are too poor to support their Pastors.

At first we only received K20,000 per month which is like twenty dollars. We had to take a check to the bank.  Now we receive MK 200,000 per month close to two hundred dollars.

The amazing thing is how Shirley meet Ps Julius at her sisters house in Blantyre. Ps Julius was the first. Then he phoned to come to Mzuzu to visit me. I was resisting because my wife Kestina and I had no food. In Malawi we are obliged to offer guest food.

Ps Julius kept phoning until eventually I accepted his visit. Julius was very persistent;

My wife was embarrassed due to shortage of food. However I eventually invited Ps Julius to worship and preach in Mzuzu. We had no breakfast so he was tired and hungry. He stayed two days.

So God used Ps Julius to ask me to be part of this mission. Ps Julius is a Godly humble man. With determination to fulfill Gods work.

I realize that i must not dismiss little beginnings. God can use the people he divinely chooses and at the perfect time.

Ps Ed Marshall our co worker came from Australia to Malawi. He invited us and our wives to the Lake. It was a new wonderful experience to see Our large lake. He tried to teach us to swim. Also he took us out into the Lake in an engine boat. At this time it was Julius and his wife Edna. Myself and Kestina. Our late Ps Hassan and his late wife Flocy. Including their 2 year old daughter Hannah;. I started to respect this call even though I was personally still trying to understand where God was leading us.

This was a memorable time and Ps Ed taught us how to share. He strengthened our Faith and encouraged us to evangelize  in our respective area's.

August to October.2024

Please pray for Veronica as she continues as our volunteer coordinator in charge of Eagle WINGS MINISTRY IN MALAWI. what an amazing job she does. Since 2020. Together with working fulltime as a physio and looking after her 3 kids and husband. With sometimes 9 in her household. Eg relations. her life is never dull.

Pastor Steven has had many new believers. One in paticular George that stands out - man living alone as his wife and kids had left him.

When Pastor Steven got to vist he learnt. This George spent hours smoking marjuanh and was addicted. However he loved his music. Pastor Steven does as well. So they spent many hours singing and playing his drum.

Eventually George became a brand new believer and Pastor Steven was trying to talk his wife and kids to return.
