Papalala Za Ongwala (the wings of the Eagle)

All of the proceeds from the sale of Shirley's paintings go to the Eagle Wings Christian Family. Eagle Wings is Chiomba Nkhanga  in Chchewa.  Eagle Wings is made up of a very small group of Christians, who support five local Malawian missionaries and their families in their work. Eagle Wings is not a charity organisation, instead it aims to help Malawians to become self sufficient. https://www.facebook.com/wingsofmalawi/

Isaiah 40:31 “but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles they will run and not grow weary they will walk and not be faint.”

Pastor Silungwe March 2014

Dear Shirley,

Thanks for the Calendar, so blessing inspiring majestic Eagle symbolizing Gods majestic and power – the Eagle is such powerful bird. My daughter does curving enterprise but of she can’t produce a good curving I wish to buy one curving from experts to send to you because I doubt if you have wood there  Shirley as you used to see trees here in  Malawi. My daughter has this enterprise which she learnt from one of the Charitable schools.

The calendar has all one may be amazed and proud of. It was quickly delivered to us.

Secondly I report that work is going on well – The December and January activities included all pastoral work at church and also out to widows and hospital can see a photo of bed to bed visitation at Central hospital with Kestinah. I also wish to start praying that I may dig two shallow wells around Sonda for drinking water.

Thirdly, I thank God that He continues to speak to you to increase pastors to support. I have known these people for along time with steady record. Kennedy Banda of Mqocha Baptist church in the borders with Zambia few kilometers from Kasungu and Mzimba. The second one is Samson Nkhoma 200 kilometers North of Malawi at Chilumba Baptist Church along the lake Malawi.

This month I will be baptizing seven  (three women, two men and two boys at my church) thereafter I will travelling to Nthalire (61 km) to help my fellow pastor. I read your letters with Keeness for people in Australia and this gives me time to kneel down for you and the church there. People in Malawi in many times receive the Gospel though not all but without much trouble. We are thanking God that you people have that courage to minister.

Greetings from family and myself to you  Juddy and Church

NOTE: For the today's internet service is poor the attached photos will find you on wednesday.

Leanne and Jim’s visit

In relation to the photo of the pastors, they are from left to right:- Kestina, Steven, Julius, Hassan, Kennedy, Biston. Hope that clarifies who they are.

We met up with the Pastors on Saturday 13 September, we spent approx, 11/2 hours with them. In that time we got to know a little more about them.

They really have a heart to fulfil the great Commission as spoken of in Matthew 28:19-20. They really do have tough areas to preach in Both economically and religiously.

Although it is said that Malawi is 80% Christian that includes faiths like Catholicism, Lutheran Anglican and such, 10% Jehovah Witness and the remaining 10% other.

We spoke about their needs of their church life and they all need permanent buildings to meet in each week thus cutting paying rent on classrooms and the likes, they are also in need of Bibles in their own dialects(languages) and keyboards and other musical instruments. We concluded our meeting with a time of prayer.

Two days after meeting the Pastors we met up with Steven and his oldest son Blessings, this gave us the opportunity to speak further with Steven about the work he is doing, Blessings is a Sunday School teacher to the younger ages.

Hope this is helpful and in line with what you were wanting.

Blessings
